This was the week of our camping trip, we went to lake cuyamaca. This was the end of our third part of the project astrophotography. We each chose something to photograph, my subject was solar photography, I got a solar filter to photograph sun spots. The next step I won't to take in this project and whatever I do next is get an h alpha filter so I can get more of the Iconic solar photography photos.
My freshman year is slowly coming to an end, but even through this year I think the most memorable moment will be this camping trip sitting on a bench at two AM watching the milkeyway, taking stare trails by hand at eleven pm, waking up at for to get the perfect shot, but the things I will remember are not the photos and the alarms its the plains cards in a tent and cooking campers stew, posting marshmallows on a heater at midnight, the things I will remember are the experiences with friends to get the photos not the shot itself. This week we where preparing for our camping trip, We went through and created a hit list for the things we plan to get photos of. I am going to try to get solar and lunar photography. As a tent group we created a packing list
-Tent -smors -bagels -Bananas -penutbutter -campers stew -foldable chairs -sunscrean -bug spray -camping stove -camping cooking utelsles The chemistry behind epoxy.
Epoxy is made of two parts the hardener and the resin. for art resin you mix the two one to one. The resin is clumps of small parts that are not changed together, adding the hardener provides a chemical reaction and links all of the resin parts together forming a longer stronger chain that when cured will be hard and glossy bringing out the colors and depth of our photos. Photo+Processing+metallic paper+epoxy coat=Beautiful Photos
What role dose each step play Photo: The basis for the final product Pressing: Bringing out the best parts and hiding the least visually appealing parts Metallic Papper: Giving the photo vibrance and depth Epoxy Coat: A protective coating that hinds scratches and gives the photo a depth that cannot be achieved on paper What is the relationship with light? The relationship with light is Providing a sense of depth and shadow hinting at where the small objects are in the real landscape and capturing that so we the verier can infer where the objects are and how large they are. Why is it important to show our work in person and not just on social media? Humans are social creatures and we thrive off of interactions with others. But even with the new advances in technology we still need the face to face interaction and talking to people about there work in person is much more sincere than just over a text or through a screen. Four concert steps no different from others, rick dark brown mulch to each side. A rustic red mettle bar with a metallic silver underneath the chipped handle. A small slope to the side of the stairs reinforced by bushes, flowers, and air. A clean concrete floor made with perfection with chocolate colored mulch on each side. Connected homes with families within and a little grass patch about the size of a room with trees scattered around with thin bark trunks and leafy green streaks and perfect leaves falling to the ground in a mix of green yellow and brown. A crisp white collard door behind without a spec of dirt to be seen. An new potted plant no more beautiful than a weed. A freshly panted sand colored house with open windows to each side there on those steps with the rough concert seats sat two friends no different than others, full of peace and dreams. Re-read the introduction from 'Of Mice and Men'. Follow Steinbeck's style and model of constructing the image of a place as you expand the writing prompt from this morning. Notice that Steinbeck begins with the place itself and slowly builds his description from water and hills and valleys to small creature and other animals until finally arriving and children and men.

Northern Cascades
The view of this photo is incredible with all of the necessary components for a great photo including foreground mid ground and background it provides a crisp and clear idea of what it would be live to visit this landmark. The photo amperes to be taken with a polarized lens which gives you a clear definition between the dark blue sky and the perfect white clouds pervading enough contrast to admire but it dose not overpower the landscape. The landscape houses lines to draw your eyes through the river o one side and another and with every inch you have a new and remarkable subject to admire. Should we have dammed the Tuolumne River at Hetch Hetchy?
We did need the dame to support the amount of people that live here, but we are changing the landscape and ecosystem for the benefit of humans but not the park. Was California meant to support this many people? California was not ment to support this many people. We have artificial changed our environment we should not change the places we live in so drastically like we have done to most of the big city. But our planet is overpopulated so we really have no choice to do anything but adapt to our needs. Are our landscapes worth saving? Why? Yes they are because if we don't save them naw they could be lost and with no way to bring them back it would cause emend damage. How should water be managed in California? Yes we have no choice but to manage water, because with the amount of people in our state and the need for water in the ecosystems that are traditionally desert. Personal: I chose this photograph because we as a species feel more emotion when it is children at the brunt end of something less than good, we are wired to feel saddened when a child is living in a work camp than an adult, even if they have the same circumstances we are much more likely to want to help the child or give the photo more thought. Even thow I cannot relate to the pore girls and their families with all their struggles. Historical: During the great depression the entire economy crashed sending people to lose there jobs and homes causing them to pack up everything they can carry and take along their family and hit the road in hopes for a job and a camp to stay at. Farms were destroyed by the dust bowls and droughts, and with no money left to fix it they were forced to travel and abandon their home. People would take any job they could find because even with very little you still have something to lose. Without money to pay for a house or land you lived in a work camp with only the most basic of tools if even that. Light: The lighting in the photo is the sun causing the children to become featureless and giving them an appearance of someone younger. The lighting is soft and natural from the setting or rising sun. The car and light sky provide a silhouette of the two girls. And the soft lighting from there side washes away their hair and sharp features giving them a flat almost two dimensional appearance. Composition: The photo doesn't seem to follow the rule of thirds or the golden rule. The photo was take from a slight right angle from the angle of the photographer, and the facial expressions of the two children with nothing but despair on her face brings an emotion into the photo, also the choice to take the photo of the sister with the crutches and bone tuberculosis provides a sense of urgency to help. The large tire next to the girl makes them seem shorter and younger because of the scale compared to their surroundings. Subject: The subjects of this photo are two sisters who are just two of six people in there family. The photo was taken somewhere in california on highway near Bakersfield. She shows in her photograph that the two girls are still struggling along with their family, because you can clearly see the tears in their clothing and unwashed face and body's. In the background you can see there car with little fuel left and no money in their pockets to pay for more gass. One of the older girls is walking with crutches and limp arms to support her because she has bone tuberculosis and the family has no money to help their children. They and their family are refugees from Oklahoma who are traveling with nothing left at a chance for a better life, with nothing left but a car out of gas and the clothing on there backs this is their last chance at a new life. In chemistry class we set up our classroom to be a dark room. We covered the door in tinfoil and put lights in vons bags and hung them from the ceiling to give us a safe lighting.
