This week we had a photo shop workshop to help create our photos and make them easier to develop, and we started to coat paper in emotion so we can develop them in the future. We also wrote a 1000 word paper about a photo of our choice. Personal: I chose this photograph because we as a species feel more emotion when it is children at the brunt end of something less than good, we are wired to feel saddened when a child is living in a work camp than an adult, even if they have the same circumstances we are much more likely to want to help the child or give the photo more thought. 1000 word essay Historical: During the great depression the entire economy crashed sending people to lose there jobs and homes causing them to pack up everything they can carry and take along their family and hit the road in hopes for a job and a camp to stay at. Farms were destroyed by the dust bowls and droughts, and with no money left to fix it they were forced to travel and abandon their home. People would take any job they could find because even with very little you still have something to lose. Without money to pay for a house or land you lived in a work camp with only the most basic of tools if even that. Light: The lighting in the photo is the sun causing the children to become featureless and giving them an appearance of someone younger. The lighting is soft and natural from the setting or rising sun. The car and light sky provide a silhouette of the two girls. Composition: The photo doesn't seem to follow the rule of thirds or the golden rule. The photo was take from a slight right angle from the angle of the photographer, and the facial expressions of the two children with nothing but despair on her face brings an emotion into the photo, also the choice to take the photo of the sister with the crutches and bone tuberculosis provides a sense of urgency to help. Subject: The subjects of this photo are two sisters who are just two of six people in there family. The photo was taken somewhere in california on highway near Bakersfield. She shows in her photograph that the two girls are still struggling along with their family, because you can clearly see the tears in their clothing and unwashed face and body's. In the background you can see there car with little fuel left and no money in their pockets to pay for more gass. One of the older girls is walking with crutches and limp arms to support her because she has bone tuberculosis and the family has no money to help their children. They and their family are refugees from Oklahoma who are traveling with nothing left at a chance for a better life, with nothing left but a car out of gas and the clothing on there backs this is their last chance at a new life. My plan for my new photo I going to be a child jumping of a swing at the park near my house. I edited this photo by changing the brightness and contrast and put the photo in black and white and dropped down the color blue and had the color teal and red at a higher contrast than others.

So... I wasn't here this week but this is what I have made up and learned.
For our photo apparition process we are young a heating plate and something that looks like a double boiler which I can only think of one youse for this set up, to make sure that the water or whatever liquid is in our chemical mix docent boil away while we are preparing the photo paper. In humanities we read the first chapter in of mice and men(which I may have read a little ahed on... and by that I mean I read the hole book.) It is an amazingly written book which reminds me of the book freak the mighty because of the relationship between the main characters. And we are also weighting a 1000 word descriptive pice about a photo taken by Dorothea Lange. We do not need the peon cass to function as a nation. We have been growing in the fields of technology. We need minds with a higher education and a deeper thought process, because the only people that will succeed that is not already in the top 1 percent are those with adaptable minds that continyou to think outside the box in every way. I believe that within the next few decades there will be little to no manual labor and repetitive tasks for humans to do, because everything that requires little intelligence to do will be completed by robots and AI. It may seem like science fiction but it can happen and I am not saying that robots and cyborgs are going to take over the world but the repetitive tasks that we rely on like farming and production lines will be replaced by a cheaper alternative than manual labor. Cabs and lifts which are mostly driven by lower class citizens will be replaced with self driving cars and when you have throws what's the point in owning a car that will sit in your driveway 20 hours of the day, so when you buy a car and it isn't being used you can send it off to give others rides and soon enough your car has payed for itself and you will have a profit, but even then there is a problem, what happens to the busses and the people who relied on the income they made by driving trucks and cabs? By making our world better and more advanced we are causing it harm because for every advance we make from this point on it's a job lost it's a family without an income.
This was the first week in our new classes. Our project is about light and photography, we will be taking photos very week and looking at the different techniques of photography. We went through chemistry lab safety and started to wright and take photos.
